Got back from Ireland yesterday! :D Went to visit my aunt & uncle who are living in this cute little cottage in the country. <3 <3 I still have to upload some more pics to Facebook but it has Glendalough & Newgrange and those were the two I took the most pics of. Now it's off to get a job in the real world!

Last semester our ad class got to participate in an ad for the American Red Cross and although I haven't actually seen it, one of my friends found it on YouTube~

You can see me at 0:11! :O )

So yeah, I'm at 0:11 with a brown jacket and hat. :P I think I'm in it for max 2 seconds, but still, I'm in a freaking commercial~! XD For those of you that live in the upstate, it's playing on channels 4, 7, and 13 until March. :3

So a friend and I got into a discussion about funny foreign songs and I remembered this Japanese Hoe-down song sung by this band called Tokio. Well, I thought the song was funny just by itself but after watching the PV...

... I realized it's much funnier than I could have ever imagined. So then we went on a youtube quest to find more songs by them and found the very lovely "do!do!do!".

Which is probably only funny to us because we've been making a lot of pooh jokes lately. ^^; And then lastly, we have the song "Fantastipo" which is sung by one of the Kinki Kids and someone else. :X

This video is perhaps of the greatest simply because of the disco dancing. XD All of these songs made me miss my high school days when I was just getting into Japanese music. :3 I listening to Kinki Kids and Tokio as well as Ayumi Hamasaki, Glay, Gackt, L'arc~en~ciel, and Shinohara Tomoe. It's so paradoxical, actually. Back then I had limited access to Japanese bands and an even more limited understanding of the language. However, today, I have more access and a better understanding of the language but I don't listen to J-pop bands as much as I did then. Nowadays I mostly listen to my old mixed cds and the occasional new anime intro/ending theme. :/

So I started playing Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World on the 20th since it was an early Xmas present from the brother. <3 I decided to write my first impressions of it and then my impressions of it once I beat it. I figured it would be somewhat interesting (at least to myself) to see how my opinions change the longer I play the game. SPOILERS for the first part of the game, up to the point you go to Asgard for the first time. So, without furtherado~

You're gonna want to hurl after the first 10 minutes of the game. Trust me. )

So that was my first impression of the game during the first couple hours of gameplay. My opinion of the main character has improved somewhat (I still think he's kinda whiney) but I doubt he'll ever make my list of "Fave Tales Chars" anytime soon. At least, not with characters like Tenebrae to compare him with. This time, we've got spoilers from the first visit to Asgard all the way to 'till the Temple of Earth. Also has some spoilers for the first ToS game.

Eau de Seduction should be classified as a biological weapon )

And that is all. Hopefully I can move the Wii into my room for the time being since the TV it's currently hooked up to is unusable. :/ I am certainly not waiting a week to play more of this game!

Had jury selection today and got picked. Yay? :X It's kinda cool being able to be a part of our judicial branch and all. Just why does it have to be so early in the morning? 9 AM? >_<

Also, my brother randomly bought FFIV for the DS. I was going to buy it soon, but now I don't have to! Yay! XD Kain's voice is gonna need some gettin' used to though. :X It's so... deep. I am glad that imps don't kick my ass as much like in the pixel version. <3 Makes me feel like I'm actually strong. :P Also, who out there pronounced Cecil's name "Sea-seal" and not "Say-seal"? Anybody? I think it sounds less gay pronounced "Sea-seal". :/ But then I'm not Square-Enix, so what do I know?

So they're gonna make a version of FFVI like this right? :O RIGHT? I want to hear Edgar's sexy voice (and not just in my head!).

And now to slack off on portfolio homework by playing FFT! Whoo-hoo!

Awww... it's the last day of my internship today. :( Hopefully today will be less boring than Monday. Since it's coming down to the wire, I've gotten less and less projects. :/ Oh well, hopefully the web developer will be able to hire me~! Then I can do fun stuff AND get paid for it~!

I am now officially the Icing Queen(tm) at work. My boss and another coworker were bragging on me yesterday and while I really felt good about it, it was to the point where I was like "how do I respond to this?" So I just kinda laughed and joked about it. O_o I am glad they like me so much though. <3

Made flan last night for the first time... although now I realize I don't really like flan. :P It did make for a really good FFIV joke, though, between me and my brother. :D

Saw a license plate with the words "Astrid" on it and immediately thought of Fire Emblem's Astrid. XD I also think there's some sort of Greek god named Astrid... either that or it's Norse/Celtic. :/ Can't remember... either way, I should've taken a picture of it. >_<

School + work has been kicking my arse lately. I haven't had much time to do anything else. :( But that's really nothing new, is it? ^^;

Mom's surgery is tomorrow, but I'll have plenty of time to complete my homework due Wed while I wait! ...yay?

Stayed up until 1am last night/today watching North & South - the new version with Richard Armitage. <3 I think I've fallen in love with another period drama~! <3 <3 Should've worked on my website this weekend, but my senior portfolio class made me kinda mad (and late for work). :( It's like I wasted all Sat morning + afternoon on a critique of everyone's projects which was highly unnecessary. I mean, what's the deal telling us what we need to change on every piece when the next question you ask is "So... are you gonna keep this in your portfolio?" Uh, what? Most of the stuff I showed you was old junk, since you said "Bring everything," so no, I'm not going to keep it. Yes, that's right, you just wasted an hour of my time and yours critiquing my works. It would've been far more advantageous to do a general critique on the portfolio as a whole, then talk about what kind of job I want, and what I need to put in my portfolio to get that job. THAT would've been a good use of class time. >:|

Well, now that I've ranted I think I'll maybe do some work? Or just search youtube for more period dramas. :3

So I am now working in a cafe on Wade Hampton. :) Like, super close to your house, [info]south0! It's pretty fun and I might be able to do some work with their website next week too. <3 Yay!

Less exciting news, mom's gonna have to have major hip surgery in early Sept. Which means I'm going to have even LESS time to spend on my website (unless I can convince my new Senior Portfolio teacher to let me do some for my portfolio >:D). Also going in-between me and my website is the art gallery at school. :| I'm the lead assistant now - which meant that Monday I got to spend the better part of my day hanging an entire show by myself. *sigh* At least the artwork for the first show is awesome.

I'm still working on completing my internship. Looks like it's gonna take awhile; it'll probably last till sometime in October. Which is both good and bad, actually. Bad, because it's another thing to schedule around/for and good because I love the people there and what I get to do.

Been reading some awesome manga lately. Finished Angel Densetsu and Akuma de Sourou. I'm not sure which out of the two I liked more. Angel Densetsu had this wacky, almost Ranma quality to it while Akuma de Sourou reminded me of Hana Yori Dango. I think of the two, Angel Densetsu had the deeper story/moral to it (not judging others based on appearances alone). I really recommended both of them though - Angel for the story and Akuma because it's a good shoujo-romance. XD

So for those you who don't know, there's a 3% statewide budget cut here in South Carolina. Why is this important? Well, there's the obvious no one will have money to do stuff thing, but probably more important is that Mark Sanford (governor) was quoted as saying "This is madness!" in response to the cut. Of course, being a rabid geek, I immediately thought in reply to that quote - "Madness? This.is.SOUTH CAROLINA! *kick*" Haha, funny right? >_>;

So the above mentioned got be thinking about random movie/game/etc. quotes I like to respond with, thus, here are the two I use the most. :D

1. They say: "That's barbaric/horrible/wrong/etc."
I say: "That's wizard chess."
From: Harry Potter

2. They say: Adj that rhymes with "dead"
I say: "Rhyming adj. They're all (rhyming adj)."
Example: When my brother was talking about how all his socks were red. So I said "Red. They're all red!"
From: Fable

So yeah, I'm kindareally a dork. :P Oh yeah! How do ya'll like my awesome Marlowe icon. >:3 Might possibly be the first (and only) Marlowe icon in existence. :O

1. Leave a comment saying you would like to be interviewed.
2. I will then respond with 5 questions that could be personal, but not extremely so.
3. Then update your LJ with the questions I've asked.
4. Put these same rules (or something that resemble these rules) with your questions.
5. When people ask you to interview them, you will ask them 5 questions.

Here are my questions from [info]south0:

1) What was your favorite subject in High School?
History 'cuz I love learning about different cultures and their wars. :P

2) What is your favorite thing to cook? (Flour-covered chicken? ;))
Despite popular belief, that is not my favorite thing to cook. ;P I guess right now it would be chocolate cake and chocolate chip cookies. I like to bake anything with chocolate in it, really. :D

3) Why do you suck at Mario so much?
Hey, I'm good at both Super Mario Land and Mario Kart (SNES) so... it's really just Mario 3. :P Why do I suck at Mario 3? Because I'm never a raccoon. Why am I never a raccoon? Because I suck at Mario 3. :P

4) Where the heck is that Edgar shrine of yours?!
I killed it and buried it in a cave (in Narshe). Seriously (lol), I'm still trying to draw something for my revision of the Miklotov tribute, so theoretically... it could happen after that? I dunno, there's a million and one things I could blame for its lack of existence but I guess it really boils down to motivation? :| It'll happen one of these days, don't worry. :P (ha)

5) What did you like most about Italy?
The accessibility of everything. Since I live in Podunk, SC, I have to drive a lot to get somewhere. In Italy, the mass-transit system is awesome (and fun) - you can take the underground practically anywhere. It's really convenient and easy. Bonus! What did I dislike the most about Italy? All the smoking. :O People smoke like crazy over there!

So I just got back from eating out with some coworkers @ me internship. <3 <3 Only 1 hr and 20 minutes left until the office party for Veronica~! Which means Megan gonna eat some cake today! XD HUZZAH!

Edit: Now with 100% more [info]terra questions!
Onto more interviews! )

I started my internship on June 30 at the Visual Communications office at school. It's super fun! XD All the people there are nice and the head web developer is a anime/manga/video game fan. <3 Right now I'm working on redesigning a newsletter for one of the departments, creating the brochure for a faculty/alumi fundraiser, and working on a site design for a website. :X Weird as it sounds, but I think the site design has been the hardest... I don't even have anything for it yet! Argh! >_< *sigh* Oh well, I'm sure I'll come up with something~. :P

These days I've just been working (either at school or at my "actual" job), reading manga, and trying not to stress out. -_-; I've got some ideas, though, about how I want to design E-B.org so I want to get started on that this weekend. I also need to get off my butt and update some of my sites! :O Poor things have been so neglected.

Blah blah blah~.

I only have a few more days and I'll be leaving for the States. :( I'm gonna miss Italy! Went to Venice on Friday and had a blast, then went to Lake Como on Sunday. Both places were really beautiful and I had lots of fun! XDXD

Totally saw some Italian Marvel/DC comics at this newstand in the metro and thought of Alex yesterday. :D Also~ yesterday I kissed my Italian crush on the cheek~! XDXD LOL! All in all, I'd say I've had an exciting and fulfilling trip. Got to see priceless works of art in person, travelled to exotic cities, and met some really awesome people. <3 <3 Once I get back to the States (and my computer), I'll have to make a gallery of all my pictures. <3 I've so far taken... at least 300+. And somewhat hard to do. ;P

So I'm here in Milano, Italia peoples~~! XDXD Let's see, I've been here since Saturday morning had have so far had gelato almost every day. :P Particuarly for two reasons: it's good and there is a super hot & sweet guy who works at the gelateria right next to our apartments. <3 <3 It's a sign, right? ;P

Saw some Roman ruins today! It's pretty weird because they've built the city both on top of and around the ancient ruins. So for example, we saw part of the old Roman wall the enclosed the city and coming out of it was a modern apartment. :O

Milan is very much like an American big city, with the exception that many buildings are older than our country. :P I think it'll be way more "italian" when we visit Florence and Rome, etc. Right now, it feels like I'm in an European version of NYC or something.

Seen lots of artwork and have taken TONS AND TONS of pictures. Once I figure out how to hook the usbs up to the Italian University's computers, I'll upload some. Yeah, that's another thing, I have to go to IULM (the school) to get internet because they only hooked up Nodine's (the teacher) computer. So, whatever.

Speaking of the school, I love the Metro system they have in Milan. It's quick and easy once you get the hang of it. It's very similiar to the Washington D.C. metro, if anyone has been there.

Well~ I'll write more when I can. Tomorrow I leave for Florence and won't get back to Milan until sometime Sunday. Some foreigners seemed to have committed some cyber crimes, so I don't know if the internet cafès will allow us non-locals to use their services. :I

Ciào!! XDXDXD
